About the author

Steven Pressfield is an American novelist, screenwriter, and teacher best known for exploring themes of creativity, discipline, and purpose. Before finding success, he spent seventeen years struggling with Resistance himself—working odd jobs as a truck driver, bartender, and advertising copywriter while failing repeatedly to complete a book. His breakthrough came with The Legend of Bagger Vance (1995), followed by The War of Art (2002), which became a modern classic for creators worldwide.

Pressfield’s later works—Do the Work, Turning Pro, and The Artist’s Journey—build upon his central philosophy: that creative success is not about waiting for inspiration but showing up with courage, humility, and faith in one’s calling. Today, he continues to inspire artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers to fight Resistance and commit fully to their purpose.
