Peter Wohlleben is a German forester and author. He spent more than twenty years as a civil servant in a state forestry administration before founding the Forest Academy, which trains people in sustainable forest management. He advises people around the world on forestry issues and has won awards for his work, including the Heinz Sielmann Award and the Environmental Award from Environmental Action Germany. His books include The Hidden Life of Trees, published in 2015, The Heartbeat of Trees in 2021, and The Power of Trees in 2023. A documentary film inspired by The Hidden Life of Trees came out in 2021.
