About the Author

Mohnish Pabrai is an investor and entrepreneur who built his career studying, and openly copying, the methods of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. After selling the IT company he started, he launched Pabrai Investment Funds in 1999, structuring it deliberately along the lines of Buffett's original investment partnerships. He has never been shy about calling himself a cloner rather than an innovator, arguing that borrowing proven ideas is smarter than reinventing them from scratch.

Pabrai is probably best known outside investing circles for once paying more than 650,000 dollars, split with fellow investor Guy Spier, to win a charity auction for a private lunch with Warren Buffett. He also cofounded the Dakshana Foundation, which prepares talented students from low income families in India for the country's toughest engineering and medical school entrance exams. Beyond The Dhandho Investor, he has written Mosaic, Perspectives on Investing, and continues to write and speak regularly about value investing for a wide audience of everyday investors.
