About the Author

Mike Acker is a speaker, executive coach, and author who has spent more than twenty years in front of audiences ranging from a dozen people to several thousand. He first learned the craft as a student at Northwest University, where he competed on a nationally ranked debate team, and he has been refining it in professional rooms ever since.

His coaching practice focuses on communication and leadership, and his client list includes Fortune 500 executives, public figures, church leaders, and relief organizations. Much of the advice in Speak With No Fear comes straight out of that work, which is why the book reads less like theory and more like a coach talking you through a problem he has watched hundreds of people solve.

Acker has written a number of books on communication, leadership, and personal development, but Speak With No Fear is the one that broke through. It became a bestseller and remains the title most readers find him through. His own story sits at the center of it. The high school speech that his classmates destroyed is the same experience he uses to open his first and most demanding strategy, and it is the reason the book carries the authority it does. He is not describing a fear he studied. He is describing one he had.
